Month of May - Minnie Mouse and Mother's Day
I just finished up a cake for a very special little girl's first birthday. It has been quite a long time since I've made a two tier cake, but it was tons of fun to work on. (Vanilla on the bottom and chocolate on the top.)

Welcome
Hello! Welcome to Cake for College--a blog all about cake and how it will help in my pursuit of attending medical school.
After an amazing first semester at Queen's University, it has come to my attention that I have many years of education ahead of me, and the cost of school can be quite steep. During the summer months at home I will be in search of the all the work I can get!
I grew up around baking and cooking. It brought together my family during holidays, and many of my fondest memories with my mom were made in the kitchen. Let's face it, everyone loves dessert. If you say you're not a dessert person, you're lying.
Over the past two years, I've spent more hours kneading fondant than I can count and making cake mostly for fun and for family events. Clientele slowly grew to include family friends, co-workers, and teachers. I wanted to create a space where I could post pictures of the cakes I've made, sort of like a portfolio.
After this semester at school, I will be open to orders! I am open to ideas for designs and flavours, and everything is done out of my kitchen at home. Cake can be delivered to anywhere in Durham region, and if you're located outside of Durham, arrangements can be made.
